2015. Wonderful peachy-vanilla nose. Tasted also a bit of lime. Purchased when I was told that this was one of the last white Bordeaux wines by winemaker Denis Dubourdieu, intriguing story so I had to try it. — 6 years ago
The 2015 Reynon is gorgeous. Attractive floral notes add perfume to a core of racy red cherry and plum fruit in this soft, open-knit Merlot-based wine from the late Denis Dubourdieu. Plush and caressing on the palate, with silky tannins, Reynon is a winner in 2015. The blend is 81% Merlot, 13% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. Don't miss it. Great Bordeaux taste without the massive price tag. — 3 years ago
Chateau’s Second Cru Classe in 1855, located in Barsac in the Sauternes appellation, has been in the Dubourdieu family since 1924. Big bouquet of ripe sweet stone fruits and citrus floral scents. On the palate peach and honey flavors adding in some sweet orange citrus showing off the "noble rot" fruit. Lingering finish ending with sweet mineral character. Very Nice! A very crispy, clean and light Sauv Blanc from the Entre-Deur-Mers appellation in Bordeaux. Dry and refreshing, yet delicious and delicate finish. Effortlessly pairs with shellfish and ceviche dishes. — 9 months ago
Dark, glass-clinging purple with near black core. Nose is initially very shy, yielding black fruit and menthol once it opens up. Palate is full-bodied, tannic (medium plus), and echoes the nose with the black fruit softening a bit to ripe blackberry with a hint of graphite. Finish is moderately long and continues the palate. A wine that's decidedly made for richer foods, the Doubordieu Hommage is a showcase for Petit Verdot, showing its potential as a varietal wine. Rich dishes are a necessity though. Go beyond steak and straight to cassoulet and similar fare. Drink now (with a vigorous decanting) through 2033. — 2 years ago
