So, this had nice fruit but it lacked depth & character. Especially, for a 2019. Most 19 Napa Cabernets or blends have shown me more. Also, would have expected to see more integration of what is there.

On a another note, I took the top right picture of their estate Merlot on 7/11/26. This is the furthest advancement of veraison in early July of Merlot in all my yrs. Or, in July period. This is what happens when you have a very warm tail-end of winter and warm Spring. It was 95 for many days in March while it was technically still Winter. 👀 😳. I have lived in Ca a long time and have never seen 95 in mid March. Climate change is real. It is likely they pick this August 10-15. Do not recall that ever happening either. — 7 days ago

Dark ruby/ purple in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose of black fruits with cedar, chocolates, spices, herbs and light earth.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, toast, light vanilla, dark chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light earth, black tea and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious 8 year old Cabernet based blend from Napa Valley. Fruit forward with nice complexity. Showing a soft mouthfeel, elegant and rich.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with some air time.

Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.

A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 12% Sangiovese. Aged in (90% new) French Oak barrels for 20 months.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

This is a very good wine and with more air and better glasses probably moves up a point or two. Went very well with food and is not just a sit and contemplate wine. Not sure it needed a decant but clearly more air. — 2 months ago

My favorite and even at this young age it is a wow! The iron fist velvet glove thing that makes you sit back and wish all Napa cab were made like this. The fruit is still primary and no real tertiary notes but wow the balance and elegant mouthfeel. Complexity, finish, balance it’s all there. The real issue is the cost is prohibitively stupid. Out of my price range but fortunate to try these. Give it 5 yrs and this would be near perfect to my palate. — 3 months ago

Hello from bitter cold MN. Woke up this morning to -23 degree temps and it was garbage day…. 🥶
Continuing my month of drinking 2016 wines. Almost opened Pape Clement tonight. Thoughts on if that’s too soon anyone? Smash or pass?
This is drinking very well. Has that Corison thing with great tension of fruit and acidity. Mouthwatering.

Special name, special occasion. Love ‘12 CA Cabs and this one especially. Surreal power for age 14. Still dense fruit, good balance but still more tilt and less finesse. Maybe better in 3-5 years but shows the heft of a well made Napa Cab. — 5 months ago
