"Les Vaillons" Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2019

Lyle Fass
9.3

A rich but energetic Vaillons with some fat but good maybe decent acid and such freshness and energy. Delicious ripe minerality and an appealing lushness to it all. Nose is glorious seashells and some lime zest. — 8 days ago

6th Sense Lodi Syrah

Oddly enough it does connect with you more each time you have some. Most enjoyable to have multiple small servings spread out over the day or a couple days. Not overbearing but still has good body. — a month ago

Chablis Chardonnay 2020

Nice pale gold appearance in glass. Nose of apple, pear and melons . Dry, with good acidity on palate, plus tangy citrus flavours as well as good steely mineral hints.
Reasonable value with ever increasing Burgundy prices and expecting a high landed cost here in Oz for the recently released 23s so glad I have quite a few of these and some of this producers premier Crus
Just the taste for a sunny summer afternoon

Earthquake Lodi Zinfandel 2021

Dark fruit notes. Big flavors of leather, smoke, bacon, spices and Oak. Full bodied with quite a bit of tannins without being too tannic. Nice and big Zin.

Freakshow Lodi Red Blend

Probably not technically as good as it tastes. This is a big, rich, flavorful wine with lots of dark fruit and high in alcohol at 15% which is most noticeable upon opening so let it breathe. I like to just sip it but also enhances food especially roasted red meats and strong cheeses with crusty bread. Wine snobs will undoubtedly be critical but so what! It’s just a good solid inexpensive wine that tastes good. Enjoy b — 4 days ago

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2020

It’s like almost every Napa chard from a high end producer. It’s good but not amazing. It reminds me of a warm hug. — a month ago

Dismissed by many as too jammy or too ripe, I’ve always thought this is the fun bottling. This ‘21 is no exception. Beneath the slightly over extracted ripe dark fruits lies quite complex aromas and flavors of figs, sweet spices, dark chocolate, smoke meat, and hint of balsamic. Rich palate but not overbearing. In a good vintage like ‘21, this can benefit for 5-8 years of bottle age.
My guilty pleasure.
