Excellent and affordable, K&L — 5 years ago
Great earthy Syrah with notes of licorice from beginning to end. Lots of fruit still left for such an older wine. — 8 years ago
Big, grapey nose but with gorgeous black olive, green olive, blackberry, wet earth, granite and violets Gorgeous aromas and so very precise. Meaty as well and the clarity is lights out. Like I am very impressed. Haven’t tasted this estate in 20 years maybe. Palate is ripe and energetic with great acidity and lovely tannins. So refined and elegant. Lots of olive juice and blackberry fruit. Killer inner mouth aromas and wonderful juiciness and balance. Finished with really intense granitic snap and formidable but ripe and beautiful tannins. Wonderful wine. A modern, but not oaky or extracted take on Cornas. A lot to like here. Let’s see what air brings. Now after air the herbs come out on the nose and they are stunning. Palate is getting silkier. Good grip and length. Gaining finesse and it’s just so complete. 9.5 to 9.6 with air. — 24 days ago
Hundred percent Marsanne, I love it or leave it grape when on its own. For me, a pleasant change from the usual. $18. — a year ago
Inky wine from rim to rim. Charred boar ragout, marigolds and violets, in cedar planters. Chunky baker's chocolate baking, teak, black shoe polish, burnt mocha rye, mint in turned soil scribbled on by grape scented marker. Smoked plum, worm castings, raw chocolate, espresso grounds, graphite dust. Oak and pepper belched from an arcane volcanic sacrifice. Wood tannins mushroom and coat the tongue. Next year's harvest might be a lock with this kind of dark dedication. #crozeshermitage #crozes #rhonewine #syrah #purpleteetharesexy — 8 years ago

Such a stunning nose and the grandiosity of Hermitage comes through. Complex white pepper, cracked black pepper, sauvage, black raspberry, blackberry, huge granite and some flowers. So complex and ethereal. What a palate. Sleek, structured and grapey but so much density without weight and lively herbs, fruits and stones. Super complex but it’s just beginning. Wow the density on the mid palate is remarkable. Superb concentration and such unreal weight. This is so large scaled yet feather like. Awesome wine. I am really impressed. More to come. So silky and elegant now with air. Real depth here and terrific noble Hermitage structure. This is just so great on day 2. Nose is insane. Feral, spicey, haunting. Just so clear. Unreal mint and just so elemental. Velvety stunning texture. Unreal structure. Really reminds me of a 1st Growth. Mouton. 9.7 to 9.8 overnight. — 24 days ago
