Domaine Des 3 Dames

Barker's Marque Vineyards

3 Brooms Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Bright straw gold color with faint green highlights. Intense aromas and flavors of gooseberry, grapefruit, lime, poblano pepper, roasted nuts, kiwi and lemon. Pleasant note of smoky minerals on the very long finish. Bone dry with vibrant and mouth watering acidity. Creamy texture, very complex and extremely fresh. Great QPR. — 17 days ago

Aged 3 Months Bourbon Barrel Red Wine Blend

Surprisingly smooth and mellow. It’s nice for a blend and would buy again. Plus I like bourbon. — 2 months ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Decanted and simmered for hours. By Hour 3+ this broadened into a deep and luxurious wine. Ripe fruit - currant blackberry. Nice mouthfeel with some mineral residue. Not a long tail on this but it did linger still. Not particularly fragrant. A bit inward overall but all the pieces good and bad kinda fit together and it was nonetheless quite enjoyable. — 4 months ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Last had this 3 years ago and there has been minimal development. That being said its still a total banger. Chocolate, berries and graphite but its the finess and silky smoothness that stands out. Went well with Pizza 🤣 — 6 months ago

If 09 lives up to the comparison of 1982, then given the number of 1982’s I’ve had over the years, worth waiting.

Claret Les Trois Dames Malbec Blend 2021

Deep ruby in color; smoke, cigar box, and black cherries on the nose; medium acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like hibiscus, cherries, plums, and a little eucalyptus with a long finish. I didn't think I would like this wine based on the aromas, but I am really enjoying it. — a month ago

Annual birthday WWC hosting. As normal, 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert, all presented blind.

Fun to open birth year wines around your birthday, especially when you can do a Bordeaux and Napa side by side. While not a great vintage, this held up well after a few hours and presented as expected. Clean and zero Brett. Great color! Deep ruby with hardly any bricking. Leather, cassis, vanilla pipe tobacco on the nose. Sporting a good bit of dusty red and black fruits (mostly tart raspberries and blackberries), there was a little savory truffle note mixed with an herbal and mocha finish. Still quite grippy. Pretty.

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1995

1995 vintage. Good fill. Excellent cork with minimal saturation. Decanted and throwing a tad extra sediment…a nice mix of chunky and powdery sed. Tasted after 30 minutes and 2 hours open and decanted. Light-medium body. Dark cherry and earth in the nose. These transferred over and slapped on a fudge chocolate note on the finish. In a good place now and not improving. Would seem to hold steady in this standing for another 3-4 years. 6.6.24. — 9 days ago

The 1911 cuvee is supposed to be 1911 bottles... Maybe this cuvee is produced at 1714 bottles?
