Dark purple with near black core. Violets and leather on the abundant nose. Confirmed on the full palate with black pepper, blackberries,and black earth. Dusty medium plus tannins assert fro entry. Juicy medium acidity cuts through despite all of that big stuff going on around it. Black fruit is there but something seems to pull back on its presence. Finish is lengthy and continues the palate adding a hint of menthol (probably the French oak). This "Big G" can give a lot of CdP a significant run for the money. The body and dark fruit (and price) call out for a hearty meal, but don't pass it by with a heady cheese and charcuterie plate. Drink now through 2037. — 16 days ago

Another one from a perfect cellar I just purchased. Cork in perfect shape. Wine is a beautiful example of aged gigondas. Almost Bordeaux like to start then some soil’y Loire quality and now it’s almost barolo like with deep ripe red fruits, iodine and smoked earth. Really lovely. Hit me up for a preview on this cellar. Prices are stupid good as the wines are premium examples of stuff you just can’t find — 4 years ago

Bright but deep gold. Honey is the first thing that hits from the big bosomy nose, followed by a hint of white flowers. Medium full palate echoes the nose with white pepper and citrus pith taking the lead over layers of minor flavors. Medium acidity and a lengthy, brooding finish (with that honey returning right at the end). Wow. What a gorgeous white Rhône. Near CdP level complexity at an upper CdR price. An excellent wine for roasted pork or poultry, root vegetable casseroles, pot pie, or any other rich “white wine” dish. You could even have this with grilled fare. Roasted bell pepper, chunky, meaty grenache. Inky and chalky at the same time. Heavy flowers. Hot dusty tiles in summer time. There’s a lot to write home about, but not everything is in its right place. Good right now and maybe great in the near future. Time will tell. — 2 months ago

Deep ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits and sweet spice, blend of Grenache and Syrah, aged in oak and stainless. On the palate flavors of raspberry, plum and cherry with floral spice, licorice and herb pepper. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, pepper and floral spice character. — 2 years ago
