Touch of oak, mineral, wet rocks lemon citrus, crisp Chardonnay — 4 years ago
Spring / summer 2021. More balanced than the warm 2018, but needs a little time for the elements to come together a bit. — 5 years ago
Black violet; dense. Peppery raisin and blackberry scented, it exhibits hints of licorice black olive tapenade, portobello, and grilled rosemary and baked dark rye.
Dried blackberry, dried cranberry, raisin-black currant with intense extraction. Rich and powerful at this price point. The pepper re-emerges, and black plum, fine graphite, black olive and oregano, thyme, and lovely tannins that flow texturally throughout. Intense, with a long long finish.

The wines are the result of a shared passion of three winemakers: Paul Hobbs & Argentine parters Andrea Marchiori & Luis Barraud. Dark Ruby with aromas of berry fruits and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of cherry and raspberry with toasty notes and pepper spice. Good balance fine tannins, lingering ending with fruit and sweet herb character. Nice, small production. — 7 years ago
Astonishing find, single bottle from AA way back, powerful, subtle, complex, mouth-coating, yet lifted into long finish. Wow. From ‘30s vines and just missed 1cru due to slanted exposition. Stunner — 7 months ago
Lots of Fruit in this one — a year ago

Spring 2021. 10 years is a great age for the denser Maconnais wines - enough time to develop richness and complexity but not so much as to fade all the fruit. — 5 years ago

On the palate raspberry and blackberry fruit flavors, a bit on the tart side, ripe and fresh, with noted spice. Fine tannins, lingering ending with sweet mineral character. — 7 years ago

2021 spring / summer. Nice country Chardonnay with lemon and white flowers. — 5 years ago
Fresh Chardonnay from the village of Chaintré, southwest of Mâcon. Vines are about 30 years old and rooted in clay and silex soils. Fresh, mineral, citrus, hints of lemon custard. Good acidity, subtly saline. Refreshing, easy to drink — 5 years ago
Nothing better than a well aged Chardonnay and fatty, cold water fish. This bottle is our go to pairing for grilled steelhead trout.
Nose is evolving since my prior post, oxidized green apple peel and cold caramel.
Palate is lightly sweet lemon curd/custard, baked red apple, cooked lemon, warm granite dust and a zing of acidity on the close.
Our feline house managers pestered for comfortable portions on the trout, they are good boys and girls, generally, so we endulge.
Great night listening to Hugh Masekela and Mongo Santamaria on the HiFi, everything complimented!
One bottle left, then we move along to the next vintage. — 7 years ago
