Bold flavors. Fruit and earth clash for a beverage I wish I had more of! — 6 years ago
Carbonic Syrah from high-density Ballard Canyon blocks. I was skeptical, but this is some serious juice, and like all of my favorite natural/low-intervention wines it is unmistakably representative of the grape’s traditional elements. This is Syrah, and you’re not left guessing. The carbonic, lifted notes are there, but they do not clash with or overshadow characteristics of the grape. Honestly, much more of a Rhône vibe than the more conventionally produced Stolpman wines (also delicious, for the record.) Getting more and more receptive to wines with glitter as I poke my head further into this natty wine rabbit hole... — 7 years ago
Paired really well with pesto pasta with chicken. Thought it would clash a bit, but actually paired very well. Would recommend with this pairing. For me the pairing makes the wine due to bringing all of the flavors from the wine and food. Even though ppl have ranked it lower, the pairing makes it a great wine. Needs to open up a bit, but once it does, it fully pours it's heart out. Plenty of smooth berries, hints of great vanilla, and went down smoothly. — 10 years ago
Mycket unik och inte särskilt ursprungstypisk. Burgundisk i sin uppenbarelse. Fyllig men distrikt fräschör. Komplex doft och smak. Gula äpplen, orkidé, fläder, grillad ananas, marsipan, bivax, vitpeppar, hasselnöt. Andas skicklig elevage. Kommer utvecklas. Värd 549 kr = ja. — 5 years ago
Mycket bra. — 5 years ago
Ganska druvtypisk men här i mer fathanterad stil. Har antydan på bra utveckling och känns bra att dricka nu. Alkoholen är lite för distrikt för att bli mer elegant. — 6 years ago
Red berries all the way. Medium body, medium+ acidity and medium tannins. Had this with moules and not a terrible pairing. Enough acid to withstand the tomatoes but soft enough tannins to not clash with the seafood. Nice natural offering from the Clare Valley. — 7 years ago
Pleasantly Pronounced fruit carries through the finish, medium bodied and enjoyable drinking wine. Black Cherry, balanced acidity. Fruit might clash with some food. Overall great value at DKK 90 from Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel in Amager/Copenhagen. — 9 years ago
Ripe and syrupy. Dark fruit with mild red fruit undertones. Tobacco and leather clash with damp earth. — 9 years ago
Aromatisk, frisk och distrikt i sina smaker. Fläder, svartvinbärsblad, litchi. Prisvärd! — 5 years ago
This wine has a deep ruby hue.
First impression involved caramel, vanilla, anise, black licorice, plum, black currant on the nose/palate; as it opened, nutmeg, cardamom, earth, cured meat, leather, espresso, and chocolate came forward.
Lovely Bordeaux blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc) with great balance and nice complexity.
Was in the mood for Bordeaux this eve. It didn’t clash with the meal (spinach / aged cheeses, ravioli, flat leaf parsley, scallions, roasted aubergine) but didn’t much enhance the experience either. It was still very much enjoyable. No regrets.

Clos du Jaugueyron (Théron), Haut-Medoc. Vintage 2015. ABV 13.5%. — 5 years ago

Heavy hitter here! Lemon Madelines covered in dark caramel, cola, orange zest, aged rum, fine tobacco, vanilla, baked blood of tubers, roasted chestnuts. The palate is aggressive as a sleeping beast caught unawares. An awkward silence, impending clash, metallic taste. Ethiopian coffee-candy, burnt cinnamon roll, honey-maple babies, brown sugar, licorice extract ash, African dream tea, Fernet branca tonic. Lingering dark aftertastes. Heavy and potent as the surprised eyes of the roused beast. Lunge. — 7 years ago

Great all-purpose red. Had it with miso scallops, and even though it's a big wine, it didn't clash. — 9 years ago

A clash of red and dark cherries with just a hint of forest floor. Something I think anyone could appreciate depending on what style of Pinot you prefer. Drinking really well right now but for me anther 3-5 yrs would preference. — 2 years ago
