Good Tuesday wine and with some value — a year ago
Interesting Rioja blend of Graciano (90%) and Tempranillo (10%). Dark ruby core with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of red cherries, rose petals, leather, mint and dusty earth. Ripe red and black cherry/currant/raspberry fruit on the palate with additional notes of dried herbs (dill), dark chocolate, black olives, coffee and minerals. Touch of vanilla on the bold and lingering finish. Fresh acidity, firm tannins and nicely balanced. Smooth texture, complex and beautifully aged. — a month ago
Less than 7€, supervalue. To be consumed young, as it is. 2023, strawberry and raspberry candy, mouthful, pleasant, well made. Cannot thing of much better things at that price. — 3 months ago
#AgedWineTuesday
Dark ruby in color with wide brick rim.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red currants, cherries, earth, black coffee, licorice, oak, black tea, tobacco leaf, herbs and light black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 63 year old Tempranillo from Rioja is still drinking nicely, although obviously not at its peak.
Soft and elegant with a nice mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and elegant. Tangy and interesting.
Still has enough fruits in it to last another 10 years. Not showing as much complexity as I expected, but it's always nice to try these kind of old wines.
I enjoyed it very much, all by itself.
A blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. Aged in French oak barrels for 3 years. Recorcked by the winery a few years ago. Only 400 bottles made.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Very good easy to drink red blend, pairs great with an Eagles win over the Cowboys — a month ago
At 10 years old, this was the smoothest Rioja I have tasted. Mild bouquet with dark ruby color. Just wonderful to sip. Accompanied a brisket meal and was a perfect pairing. Drank in November 2024. — 3 months ago

When smelled initially, the wine has a slightly fruity smell with notes of blackberry. The wine is moderately sweet and his a little acidic. After tasting, the wine has medium to full body with strong notes of leather sour blackberry. It also has subtile umami flavor, similar to butter and sauteed mushrooms. After savoring for a bit, a little spiciness is detected, similar to allspice or cloves. Overall this was a well balanced wine and I would definitely purchase again. I have also made a sautéed mushroom sauce for porkchops with this wine, which paired quite well. I will definitely be a repeat buyer. — 22 days ago
