Really like this wine for the price. Not terribly complex but still ticks a lot of boxes. Lots of body, good stone fruit (not terribly complex but nice), nice length. Apparently younger vines — 3 years ago

At 7+ years old, this is showing its balance & varietal beauty! Dark cherry chewy fruit and classy tannins sing in harmony. Going to pair with Certified Devon beef prepared as burgers. So, the ‘14 vintage was moderate (almost cool) that was very beneficial for preserving acids. Acidity certainly adds the aging process. 1 more bottle in the cellar. — 4 years ago

Devon rating: “oooh, that’s good! What is that?” — 6 years ago
South African Chenin from the Devon Valley. Intense aromas and flavors of lemon zest and melon. Hints of apple and pear. A touch of minerality completes this complex white. Fruit forward but not sweet. Full, crisp and round. Left on the lees for nine months. Just a bit of oak aging. Balanced acidity. Just a terrific wine. Great with Asian take out. My research shows this varietal has German origins, and it shows since it displays hints of a Riesling. Tilts sweet with a nice playful sweetness. Primarily citrus fruits on the front palate, with hints of sherbet on the rear. Nice acidity has served to protect this from decline. Could go another 3 years at a push. — 7 months ago
