Bloomsbury Sparkling White Blend

Champagne method and blend - 49% Chardonnay, 31% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier. Lifted aromas of almond cake, biscotti, and sea shell. More non fruit than fruit with a almond kringle feel the palate. Lemon zest to finish. Soft and round with loads of acid. Well done. — 3 years ago

Wiston Estate Winery

South Downs Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay 2015

My second time trying this wine having opened my case three years ago, and the 2015 BdB from Wiston hasn’t budged an inch. It remains a taut, incredibly youthful and monolithic Chardonnay which will age well for another decade at least. While the nose is a little shy, it has great effervescence and pristine aromas of gooseberries, lemon sherbet, crushed shells and hints of bread. On the palate the wine is very singular and direct; a testament to great English Chardonnay, with massive acidity and flavours of brioche and bitter lemon, and great minerality – perhaps the most I’ve experienced in an English fizz. The finish is, well, endless, and the wine benefits greatly from time in the glass, gaining a bit of fat and broader mouthfeel. Really complex stuff, and a wine I’ll leave for another three years at least before trying again. — 6 months ago

The nose displays a nice mix of peach, lime, strawberry, sourdough, and light chalk. Delicate fine mousses. High acidity but with a round edge. Shows a lot more Chard characters once the mousses are settled. Clean crisp finish.

This one was recommended over other more expensive vintage English bottling. Very happy with the choice.

Brut Reserve English Sparkling White Blend 2019

Shows very well, I’d challenge to distinguish from solid grower champagne. Yellow flowers, lemon, a touch of underripe stone fruit. Very good backbone if a bit young on the autolysis integration — 4 months ago

Ambriel

Classic Cuvée White Blend

Pale yellow in color with a light golden hue.

Interesting nose with citrus, apples and very light oak.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with medium plus sized bubbles.

Showing limes, citrus, apples, light earth, herbs, spices, light brioche and white pepper.

Tangy finish with herbs and spices.

This is a tasty sparkling wine from England. Elegant and robust.

Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Good by itself or with food.

A blend of 68% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 2% Pinot Meunier. Aged for 68 months on the lees. Disgorged in 2023 and made in the Traditional Method.

11% alcohol by volume.
