Decanted and drank over several days. Excellent nose, big tannic structure day 1 which resolved day 2. Very well made wine but .... No fruit at all. I understand that can come with a Mouvedre, but I found the lack of fruit problematic over time. — 2 years ago
This ain’t half bad. Maybe I just like to lavish out reasonable marks, but it’s a crowd-pleaser. Lemon rind, roasted almonds and roasted nuts on the nose lead to a weighty, sweet mid palate. Lacking acidity along with a relatively short, exotic finish, I’m willing to overlook its fault lines, cos overall it’s good. — 3 years ago
A powerful Syrah in its youth, the Winds of Change 2023 (released March ‘25) opens with a dusty nose full of minerals, rose and kirsch. On the palate, its drying tannins are at the forefront now, adding to the dusty feel, but there is a nice peppery bite, dark cherries and tar. It felt a bit reserved and perhaps a few more years in bottle will mellow the tannins and let the rest shine. — 2 months ago
Delectable, this is the Desire Lines Wine Co. Experimental Series No. 10 Old Durney Massa Vineyard Reisling.
Slate, tropical fruits.

A great transition wine for the first day that really felt like Spring in New York! Tavel-like, the 2024 Shake Ridge rosé is full bodied with more red notes than floral or white and stood up well next to grilled chicken. Definitely a ‘table rosé’ more than a poolside sipper, but worthy of a great spring meal or maybe a Thanksgiving dinner. — 2 months ago
Light, limpid lemon color…very light nose. Clean, crisp, lemon, tart apple notes with a hint of stem. Delightful long finish with a smooth, supple base note and hints of savory basil. Structured, layered, complex and lively. I love Chenin… particularly Californian with early summer simple lemon roast chicken and cucumber/onion salad. I like the producer and wish I had more. Easy to like as a young vibrant wine. — 2 years ago

This wine shows what a versatile wine Sauvignon Blanc can be. Grapefruit zest and gardenia on the nose followed by a dry, light and well structured palate. Wonderfully balanced acidity, tropical elements, and incredibly bright without a hint of ‘green’ that is overabundant in so many SBs. — 7 days ago
