Poured a little bit darker colored amber than I was expecting. Slight golden color to this one. The nose on this bottle is definitely more of a mango and peach. Entry with a nutty influence, mango, peach, melon influence as far as fruit goes. Definitely not on the acidic side. Bubbles do not appear to be microscopic...or large for that matter. Just....nice. I honestly think this one needs to sit another few years. — 6 years ago

Reception pour at the Jean-Michel Cazes dinner.
On the nose; sweet & sour cherries, strawberries, under ripened tangerines, black cherries, brioche, nice volcanic minerals and red & pink roses.
The body is rich. Sweet & sour cherries, strawberries, under ripened tangerines, black cherries, ripe rhubarb notes, more brioche than the nose, seashells & oysters, nice volcanic minerals and red & pink roses. — 6 years ago
What a beautiful wine especially at this price. There’s a dark caramel and bread/yeast component that is pretty strong but it is nicely balanced with pears and apple. There’s a good amount of stone and I also get some red fruits like strawberry or maybe plum. Overall an outstanding champagne at any price but even better at 50. — a year ago
Nice. Good lees and chardonnay on the nose — 4 years ago
Gary Westby’s recommendations never fail! This is an amazingly versatile champagne that will pair with almost anything; from sushi to thanksgiving turkey and fixings to a nice steak! — 5 years ago
