I love it when a plan comes together! This 2008 was a highlight of my March trip to Champagne. This bottle is composed of 96% Chardonnay and 4% Pinot Noir from Bethon, one of the chalkiest terroirs in the Sézanne. The wine has the bright, mineral cut that one expects from fancy Chardonnay in a high acid vintage, but also some great weight and texture. I think this will age very well, the 1988 I drank earlier this year sure was fresh!
