Charles Heidsieck

Brut Réserve Champagne Blend

Charles "Champagne Charlie" Heidsieck was one of the first to recognize the importance of the U.S. as a Champagne market. A blend with 40% reserve wines, fruit and floral bouquet, with orange blossom & yeasty notes. Fine bubbles, nice mousse, showing quality. Outstanding rich flavors of apple, pear and biscuit, well balanced, good structure, creamy. Long finish ending with toasty nutty oak & mineral notes. — 5 months ago

Patz & Hall

Bootlegger's Hill Pinot Noir 2018

This site was, at one time a moonshiner site, subsequently planted by Charlie Chenoweth with Pinot Noir. Medium Ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruits with notes of herbs, citrus, herb and spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, ripe strawberry and cherry with espresso, vanilla and herb tea spice, well balanced with acidity. Fine tannins on a long finish ending with cedar, baking spices and earthy character. Very nice! — 8 months ago

'Perfect Day' Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc - Sémillon Blend

I’m not usually a fan of Sauvignon Blanc, but this was a bit more complex than most. Nice melon note, with a smooth mouthfeel. Definitely a good summer wine for its crispness. Not sweet, either, which I prefer. — 2 years ago

'Cannonball' Margaret River Red Blend 2018

Dark garnet with near black core. Cabernet-forward nose of cassis with a bit of green. Palate is full-bodied with medium tannins and juicy medium plus minus acidity, and confirms the nose adding no blackberry and a wee bit more bell pepper (normally a turn-off for me, but in this higher-acid blend, it works). Finish is moderately long and continues the palate. Australia has come a long way with its reds and this is a great example of how. Fruit forward yet food friendly, the Cannonball is an excellent entry into higher end Aussie reds. Drink now through 2028. — 2 years ago
