Château Lynch Bages

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1995

1995 vintage. Good fill. Excellent cork with minimal saturation. Decanted and throwing a tad extra sediment…a nice mix of chunky and powdery sed. Tasted after 30 minutes and 2 hours open and decanted. Light-medium body. Dark cherry and earth in the nose. These transferred over and slapped on a fudge chocolate note on the finish. In a good place now and not improving. Would seem to hold steady in this standing for another 3-4 years. 6.6.24. — 19 days ago

Château Haut-Bages Averous

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Sweet and plummy, pencil shavings, red pepper, tobacco, nicely balanced. It’s not like winter is coming for this wine, but autumn has definitely set in. Time to drink up. — a month ago

Bodegas Abadal

Pla de Bages DO Cabernet Franc Tempranillo Blend 2020

Medium to dark ruby in color; black cherries, cedar, and blackberries on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; tastes like raspberries, dried flowers, a hint of black pepper, and wet gravel with a long finish. I like it. — 2 months ago

‎Échantillon Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2023

Full on. Big and precise. Like this vintage a lot. Showing clearly a great potential.
Rose and strawberry not really obvious. Love to taste this in 15/20 years.

Echo de Lynch-Bages Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

In a wonderful spot. Decanted a couple hours which was a good call. Still some definite dusty tannins on the finish, but with food it’s a great pairing (specifically beef shank and short rib braised in wine and a lot of aromatics). Certainly Bordeaux. Quite enjoyable. Could go longer. — 5 months ago
