#2 of Jura Savoie evening
Nice aromatics with ripe apple, curry leaves, a hint of herbs, a whiff of salty caramel.
Bright acidity but with some aromatic mid palate. Apples, curry, a touch of ripe pear. Nice length & character with a peppery finish. This is so food friendly!

Very good Savagnin from L’Étoile, a tiny appellation in the southwestern part of Jura, aged under a veil of flor for 3 years. Essentially, this is a younger version of their Vin Jaune, released halfway before it reaches the mandatory 6 years. Clean, pale yellow color. Fresh nose reminiscent of a Fino, with textbook aromas of nuts, yeasty and spicy notes, and some hints of green almonds. More fruit. Tart green apple flavors. Very fresh, mineral, saline, really tasty. Very long finish. Exceptional value — 9 months ago
This is shockingly good. Blind I would probably say outstanding Napa Valley Merlot. Deep, pure dark berry/cherry fruit together with deep gravelly notes and a smoky minerality. Round and rich in the mouth, but not overextracted or flabby. Fruit concentration hides significant amount of soft tannin that will allow this to age, but it’s very drinkable right now. Great balance and length. Great Merlot. — 2 months ago
Very nutty and serious. Classic sur voile aroma. A blast of tart yellow fruit juice on the attack, all on the mineral side. Then this seems to drop off on midpalate only compared to the start and finish, which are tuned to volume 11. The finish just demolishes, goes on forever with walnut, preserved lemon, slate. But then every sip is a different experience. Really a wine of intrigue.
Wow days in the fridge and this has become insane. So much more dense, savory and chewy. Really curry notes are building. — 6 months ago

Amazing nose - dried apricot, sharp lemon acidity, kumquat, pomelo Marmelade, candied Mandarine peel, golden raisins. Amazing. Could smell this forever.
On the palate this shows amazing balance. High sweetness and high acidity with brilliant drinkability and freshness. Great precision and energy. This is soo good!! — 4 months ago
Special wine produced for the first time of 100 pct savagnin. Not an oxidized style but two years in barrel with constant topping up. The wine tastes like stone fruit - apricots and white peaches - with an undertone of hazelnuts with plenty of salt. Extremely rich but clearly outstanding. Only 60 cases made, will be interesting to see how it evolves over time. — 9 months ago
