From granite and sandy soils from the fine Fleurie as yet unofficial cru "Les Moriers" , this is a crisp fruity, irrestible Gamay. Don't drink straight from the can,but serve it in nice wine glasses. Fleurie 2014 Château des Moriers, Miss Vicky Wine. Good Beaujolais Crus tend to age very well, and this is no exception. I tasted the 2013 and 2014 alongside, and while they both are very good, I prefer the more mineral Pinot Noir-like 2014. Exceptional value too. — a year ago

Really one of the nicer and perhaps more complete Beaujolais I’ve had in a bit. Decanted 2+ hours, needed it as there is some real structure here that evened out nicely. Wonderful nose, quite typical. Lots of dark red fruit and a bit of earthy funk. Excellent length and acid on the finish. — a year ago
2014 vintage. An older Beaujolais cru from a great estate is always a good idea. This 9 years old Moulin-à-Vent is a perfect example. It features layered fruit, a solid ripe tannic backbone, and refreshing acidity. It seems to be only at early maturity, I expect this to age well for at least a decade. Terrific value too. Generally enjoy Beaujolais from Hoppneot and this fits the bill. Certainly know the grape and region from the nose and fresh cherry on the palate. Good acid. Perhaps a smidge less complex than hoped. — a month ago
