Solid but needs time or a long decant. Good QPR. — 22 days ago
First, the oak, then the acid, then the long full finish. A bigger wine than expected, which will go with a range of food. A $35 bargain at Costco — 7 months ago
Wow. Great white wine full of bold fruit and wood with a buttery taste that melts in your mouth. Definitely would get this again. — 2 years ago
Really fantastic QPR. 2014 BdX continues to be a great fit for my palate. — 7 months ago
Velvety smooth. Fruit and pencil shavings. Decanted from an imperial 6 liter bottle for an Independence Day dinner on Cow. — 2 years ago
Pretty stark contrast between this and the Chateau Carbonnieux drank alongside. Much more regal, linear and mature. On the nose, mature dark fruit, forest floor, cassis, leather. Similar in the mouth. Some tannins with good acid. Needed about 2 hours in a decanter to fully realize potential. A proper and mature Pauillac. — 4 years ago

Perhaps, were it not for Burgundy, the world’s finest white wines would be those of Bordeaux, with Pessac and Graves instead of Puligny and Chassange. With the increasing cost and scarcity of those latter wines, however, us lovers of Bordeaux Blanc can enjoy wines like this 2012 Carbonnieux with a smug smile across our faces. This is a gorgeous wine, complex but oh-so-drinkable, with plenty of tertiary attraction but totally fresh and vibrant at the same time. The aromas of burnt butter, Seville orange, macadamia nut, peach and vanilla only intensify on the palate, with mouthwatering salinity and great concentration, and a lovely note of bitter lemon on the long, graceful finish. This is a white wine of great clarity, poise and confidence, and just embarrassingly good value. Enjoyed with pork loin and Dijon mustard. — 2 days ago
