Château Canon La Gaffelière

Château La Gaffelière

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

Deep ruby color with a viscous grip of the glass. Fresh flowers and herbs, cranberry, spearmint, but otherwise youthful nose. Medium weight, medium plus alcohol, dry. Red fruits are more prominent on the front palate with medium acidity, and medium gripped tannins. Medium finish. Way too early to open this one. My fault. It will add at least 2 points with age. Thankfully, I have more that I will not disturb.

Decanted for 1,5 hours, jamy nose, cassis, black currant, earth, great complexity on the palate, tobacco fruit, earth, quite long finish, perfect right now — 3 months ago

Château La Vieille Cure

Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Always a solid bottle but in a double blind and bottle 8 of 8 it was never going to have a fair shake in the line up. Still showed why it’s great QPR. — 2 months ago
