Il Cavaliere Selvaggio Collezione Cabanon Sauvignon 2021

Diverso dal 2020, sembra più un Sauvignon, nota minerale, frutta meno evidente, naso diverso. Da aspettare. Appena imbottigliato. — 4 years ago

Cavaliere d'Oro Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2017

Went back to this well to verify that it’s the best midlevel Chianti offering if you’re trapped in the 1980s hellscape that is buying wine in Pennsylvania. It’s your best bet. — 5 years ago

Contrada Cavaliere Etna Bianco Carricante 2019

An excellent white from Sicily. Pale yellow with aromas of minerality, lemon zest, and apple. On the bud, it’s has a nice full body with citrus flavors of lemon and grapefruit. Finish is long. — 5 months ago

Il Cavaliere Ruche Di Castagnole

Not sure what the “9.99” means in @Delectable Wine ‘s ID of this wine means. This is the “Il Cavaliere” bottling.

Every so often I crave a Ruche, with its unique scents and flavors, heavy on the slightly bitter mountain berries and violet florals. This one’s nice and a good weeknight value pour.

Castello la Leccia

Vivaio del Cavaliere Toscana Rosso Red Blend 2014

This is the syrah, but not in the database. Blueberries and some mysterious dark berry on the nose. Surprised to not have more after 1.5 hours decanted. Grippy tannins, but seems a bit flat. Que syrah syrah, right? Update: After 2 hours it's much better. What a difference! Floral and fruity notes balanced with an acidic edge. Full mouth feel, nicely balanced, and undefined fruits. Wow, what a wine this! Definitely needs 2 hours to open. And here I thought the best Syrahs were from France! No, this is a keeper! — 4 years ago

Cavaliere d'Oro Alleanza Toscana Merlot Blend 2016

Castello Di Gabbiano Cavaliere D'Oro Alleanza Toscana Red 2016, Italy

It's time for some Merlot on this
#MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!

Inky in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose with red and black fruits, oak, cloves, peppercorn and dark chocolates.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, light vanilla, herbs, black tea, peppercorn, chocolates and tobacco leaf.

Medium length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 8 year old, Super Tuscan Merlot blend, is drinking very nicely now. Elegant and rich.

Nicely balanced, soft and complex, and feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, so be patient. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Robert Parker 92 points.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and good with food too. Will pair nicely with a nice piece of steak. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon . Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$50.
