Italy. White. Sicilian.
100% Malvasia grapes. This was a really interesting one; got hints of sea salt more than fruit (maybe some lemon and nectarine), straw color, thick compared to most Italian white blend/moscato/Pinot Grigio...more like a chardonnay consistency but no buttery taste - tasted much lighter. Think of cooking with butter vs olive oil - this is more like olive oil. Went wonderfully with seafood (spaghetti alle vongole)...used it to cook the dish too. Don’t really taste the alcohol (13.5% alc. by vol.). I really liked it and it was unlike other whites I’ve tried. More expensive than other whites I’ve tried but I definitely would get it again as I felt it had more depth. Not a sparkling or wine with “zing”. — 6 years ago

Very refreshing siting by the pool at Capo Faro winery. Citrus, yeasty, and a candied aroma….perhaps butterscotch. Crisp on the palette with a nice acidity. — 4 years ago
Delicious. Medium color and body. Light juicy and floral aromas. #giro grape. Pepe and I traded bottles. I asked him about this grape and I’m still awaiting a response. There’s a Giro grape on Mallorca that was recovered by some friends of mine Miquel and Toni Gelabert, but that grape is white and has gris and red mutations…this wine of Pepe from #Alicante is red and not gris. Then there’s a Giro on Sardegna but Pepe has yet to tell me if it’s the same as the Sardinian grape or not. In any case it’s somewhere between a Light Garnacha and a Trosseau noir very perfumed and soft. Highly recommendable. I drank straight away because it was too tasty but it can age for 3/5 years no problem. — 5 years ago

Really good wine with seafood has a light mineral taste with plenty of citrus notes. Had this at Capo Boi in Roma — 8 months ago
