Last bottle of this. It has steadily transformed into something amazing. I would have loved to have inserted this in to a tasting of 2009 classified growth Bordeaux. Color is showing some maturity. Nose is open and complex, with cedar, sandstoney gravel, roasted peanut, and lovely blackcurrant. Soft in the mouth, with concentrated flavors but in a balanced frame. Ripe fruit, acids, and tannins in balance. So good. — 10 months ago

Deep ruby in color; blackberries, tabacco, and red pepper flakes on the nose; high acidity; medium tannins; tastes like red plums, blueberries, and clay pots with a long finish. — a month ago

Oh María Luz you are a rockstar. I lovingly carried this bottle back from my first trip to Chile, having been bowled over by this fierce female winemaking pioneer who runs Casa Marin with her son. From the chilliest part of San Antonio Valley, a stone’s throw from the sea, Luz’s wine shimmer with acidity and vibrate with energy. At 12 years of age this Syrah is absolutely singing with gorgeous green olive salinity backed by blackberry bramble, dried herbs, white pepper and dried currants. Fantastic acidity and faint tannins make this an utterly effortless mouthful. I wish I had another bottle. Or five. — 4 years ago
