Blend of Negroamaro (90%) and Malvasia Nera (10%). Bright ruby color with a distinct brick rim. Aromas of black fruits, roasted meat and purple flowers. Flavors of black cherry, ripe plums and baking spices. Long, earthy and powerful finish. Bone dry, rustic and full bodied. Thanks for opening, Chris B. Revisited in October 2014. Still bright and fresh. Aging beautifully. — 7 months ago

Pretty color of ruby with a wide brick rim.
Nose of red fruits, tobacco leaf, light wood, spices, coffee, black pepper, vegetables and herbs.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, fresh cherries, spices, light oak and espresso.
Short finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a nice 11 year old Barolo.
A little tight right out of the bottle, and needed 90 minutes of airtime.
Fruity on the nose and earthy on the palate. Elegant and soft.
Still feels very young and would be nice to revisit it in a few years.
Not as complex as I expected it to be, but showed a beautiful nose once it opened up.
Not balanced at this point, and a little tart for me. Could be this specific bottle though.
100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 30 months.
14% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Costco find today… deep cherry, raspberry, and slight vanillla. Really good Cabernet. Lighter than some, but still full bodied. — a month ago
Another oldie, probably just past its peak. 38 years old - not bad! Barn-sided red with some brick on the edge. Lots of cedar, graphite, black pepper and cigar ash to smell but little fruit. Nice smooth tannins, still a little puckering. Medium acidity. For flavor there are some darker berries and red cherry notes. It’s a nicely balanced wine. Good length on the finish. — 6 months ago
Opened to use in ragu and was shocked how much we liked it. Someone must have brought it over (Jim?) — 5 months ago
