Tha fuckin god. The goat. Drank with my most beloved friends on our last weekend living in Brooklyn, after aging this bottle (from Joel) for four years. August 3, 2017. Goodbye 650 Franklin. — 9 years ago

Had this wine in Vegas, Bardot Brasserie. The wine was approachable with gentle berries, fine tannins, lovely terroir that gives palette a mineral accent on the finish. Sold at $164 in restaurant. Had 3 bottles, still wasn't bored. — 9 years ago
2016/3/8 at Wine Sellar & Brasserie, San Diego. My first time trying this producer. Seems more new world style, fruit generous, lower on acidity (perhaps due to vintage). It does have a good integrated sense of terrior though. Very easy drinking, very enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Bière de dégustation. Goût fruité et un peu amer, titrant à 8.5. Moi c'est le genre de bière que j'aime. A reprendre — 11 years ago
I really don't like much beer but this is great. Have 3 more flavors. — 12 years ago
There's a great video on YT on what a Saison is. In short, it's a farmhouse ale (pale or sometimes red) that was historically served to farm workers as a clean source of hydration. Without any distinctive characters and lower in alcohol then, the "Saison" only really gained it's signature when the house in question came into the equation. Also, based on my research, the checkered "Vielle Provision" yellow labels are the export labels.
As it was here, the Dupont Brewery's Saison is generally cloudy, very carbonated via bottle conditioning, zesty and spicy, bitter with a hint of sour, and a dry hoppy finish. For me, this is truly "The beer for all seasons" - the flavours are just so versatile. Perfect for a warm summer afternoon in the park, yet complex enough to pair with a 3-star dish. — 6 years ago

Happy belated Zwanze Day! Celebrating with this 2017 bottling of Cantillon’s Classic Gueuze. Over the years, I have drifted to be a little more fond of 3 Fonteinen but I’m really splitting hairs. This is world class.
Popped and poured; crushed in 30min after doing the first yard work of 2024 and getting the hops trained to the trellis. The gueuze pours a brilliant golden color with a persistent head. On the nose, mostly tasty stone fruits: apricots, peach, kumquat, horse blanket, stony minerals. On the palate, the gueuze is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and refreshing. Drink now. — 2 years ago
