2013. In a great spot. Expressive nose with layers of ripe cherries & plums. The fruit follows a similar path on the palate. At the Bourgogne level, I don’t expect the complex fruit, smoke & hints of fennel to emerge so beautifully. The complex flavors find a wonderful balance with the ethereal palate weight and chalky tannins. This is fresh, but the acidity is behind the flavors and textures right now. — 6 years ago
Final frustrante — 7 years ago
Caviste Frenchie. Fruit and funky. Plummy and rich. Delicate and balanced — 8 years ago
Au Bons enfants Maastricht recommended by sommelier off menu. — 4 months ago
One of the favorites of the tasting. This 100% Grenache CDP (if my memories are good) that pinots surprisingly on red fruit notes, and olfactory referents that would lead us to Burgundy or some old Beaujolais crus (Brouilly 2006 by F. Aublanc): Potpourri, dried flowers etc. Acidity is full of promises for evolution and aging.
— 4 years ago

— 8 years ago
This 2011 is a pleasant surprise... with bottle age, some roasted white mushrooms, a metallic or flinty note (tiny bit of Brett?), some whiffs of a rustic cellar... all very slight, and mostly complementary to the tart cherry, raspberry, and almond flavors. Terrific for 2011. With a little air, even tastier. SommSelect Spring 2018. — 8 years ago
Pop and pour yesterday. Better than I remember my last btl being. On the nose: musty mulberry, vanilla, spice, rose. On the palate: good acidity, lovely density and weight...black pepper, mulberry and blackberry. Soft, finely grained tannin on the finish. Yum. — 5 years ago
Has really improved over the last few years. — 6 years ago
Absolutely incredible value for money. VERY fruit forward, with “Touriga Nacional” in the front of the queue, if you don’t like port or fruity wines, stay away from this one, but for an amazingly drinkable daily “Table Wine” at around AU$ 10.00 a bottle? This is a winner on every level.

Lyle Fass

Founder Fass Selections
Gorgeous, lithe aromas of mid-season cherry. Amazingly elegant and wispy, like a ballerina, with gorgeous purity and ripe tannins. So pure, aggressively elegant, with a skosh of Beaune rusticity. Very pretty, iconic, classic Burgundy. — 12 days ago
