May 2021. Purchased LB Marathon August 2020 60% Syrah, 30% Carignan, 10% Grenache. Black rip fruit plus a bit of spice. Well balanced. Excellent QPR. — 5 years ago

Vanilla and Carmel on the nose over black fruit. Soft tannins enhance a cocoa and tobacco palate with an almost minty note at the end. Good length. Mouth watering. — 8 years ago
Inky Dingac; tannins, berries, earthy. Balanced and good long finish. — 8 years ago
Strong cherry nose with bold undertones of wet hay, mud, manure and crushed granite or asphalt. Color of dark cherry, medium bodied, with a strong tannic palate that immediately dries the tongue and top of the mouth. Palette is sharp and prominent, with notes of brandy and dark cherry, pepper, sharp acidity, with a short finish with notes of dark chocolate, iron and bloody meat at the edges. — 8 months ago
Lemon and grapefruit accents, medium body, nice acidity, enjoyed as our “pre-lunch” morning aperitif (since Alba is Latin for Dawn, seemed appropriate to drink as a morning wine). — 3 years ago
Medium ruby color, concentrated black cherry and ripe plum aroma, medium sweet entry, but getting drier afterwards. Good balance on the palate. Tannin medium plus, but the texture is polished. It kinda feels like a blend between Rhône Grenache and Puglia Primotivo. — 4 years ago
This afternoon I have opened the 2015 Soljans Estate Barrique Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir.
On the nose I am able to get ripe cherry, strawberry jam, cola, ckove, mushroom, some funk, wet leaves and forest floor.
On the palate there is ripe cherry, raspberry, cranberry, plum, clove, mushroom and an earthy component.
This wine is medium bodied with medium acidity and medium sandy tannins with a long earthy finish. I hope everyone's weekend went well and are doing well? We look forward to a wonderful week ahead and as always please stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 6 years ago
One of my favourite Italian whites - this is made from the Falanghina grape which is the main grape of Campania. Harvested at full ripeness. Fermentation takes place as 70% in stainless steel and 30% in Barrique. See previous note here in April 2025. Not designed for long cellaring. Previous notes still apply. An ideal winter white wine. White flowers, herbal notes with unctuous ripe fruits on the palate. Impossible not to enjoy this. Sadly my last bottle. — a year ago

Powerful Dalmatian red! aged garnet centre/garnet rim w/mid intense of colour. plum, blueberry, black cherry, custard vanilla, mocha, nuts and mineral. dry, mid+ fresh acidity and mid(-) tannin. Sweet ripen odour and vibrant acidity’s compatibles. personally it felt like well ripen Me w/ used french oak, but indigenous variety Plavac Mali (100%) is an offspring of Zinfandel.
