Baja East Wine

Canto de Luna

Valle de Guadalupe Tempranillo Blend 2022

Characteristic wine from Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, Mexico. Expressive dark fruits, spicy, earthy and a jammy edge. Pairs perfectly with the corn, beans and mole in Mexican dishes. No wonder why they call Mexican wines the next Tequila! Want to learn more about wines from Valle de Guadalupe? Monte Xanic

Gran Ricardo Valle de Guadalupe Red Blend

Massive wine, huge flavor, judicious oak. Usually wines like this would be goopy but this is not. — a month ago

Gramercy Cellars

Lower East Southern Blend Red Rhone Blend 2020

Dark purple in color with a wide purplish rim, and medium plus intensity.

Strong nose of black currants, plums, tobacco, licorice, light oak, spices and chocolate notes.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruit forward on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, currants, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, herbs, peppercorn and tobacco leaf.

Short finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 5-year-old Syrah blend from Columbia Valley is drinking nicely right out of the bottle, but better after 2 hours of airtime.

As it opens up, more earth notes show up and bring more complexity. Feels like a heavy Southern Rhone red.

This 5 year old Syrah is drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.

Rich and fruit forward. Soft and elegant, with a mouth coating feel. Spicy and complex.

A blend of 70% Syrah, 22% Carignan and 8% Mourvedre.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$25.

This is such a good value wine.

L.A. Cetto

Valle de Guadalupe Petite Sirah 2022

Dark, glass-clinging purple with near black core. Inviting nose and full palate of natural blueberry jam (without canning sugar) and drying blackberries. Medium acidity and medium minus tannins lend support to an otherwise "chonky" mouthfeel. Finish is brief and a wee bit Louisville slugger. My first wine from Mexico (Guadeloupe Valley, Baja California) turns out to be a quite satisfying drink. Not a blockbuster by any means, but well within typical style for the variety from a warm climate. And a good value at twelve bucks. Drink within the year with meatloaf now or burgers from the grill next cookout. — 2 months ago

Hirsch Vineyards

East Ridge Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2022

One of Hirsch’s more rugged bottlings, being on the east ridge. Opened way to early. So much acidity and freshness overwhelmed the darker fruits you could tell sat beneath. Lots of promise. Will wait on the next one. — 5 months ago

Jamsheed

Warner Beechworth Syrah 2013

Honeymoon wine! Lush and robust, nose a little funky, but the taste is phenomenal! Dark berries, kirsch, lomey soil, dried herbs, and smoky! Fantastico! — 8 months ago
