Too young, obviously, but it called to me from the cellar! Gorgeous layers - individuals now, but I’m guessing will integrate together beautifully with more bottle age. Big dense black fruit leads the nose, whole the palette brings a great meaty smoky quality. There’s already a satisfying savoriness there I can’t wait to check in again 10 years or so. That special energy and beautiful texture I expect from Colgin is there in spades. Bottle 2 waits patiently! — 3 months ago

Anniversary celebration...had to have some fun wines...its a 06 Harlan vs 06 Colgin battle tonight!

1 hour decant(decent sediment). A beguiling purplish garnet with some bricking. On the nose: subtle but expressive nose of dark cherry, tar, graphite, smoked meat, creme de cassis, floral. Taste: powerful but elegant with silky tannins, black raspberry, mocha, minerals, dark chocolate, and a long smokey cedar finish with a slight tannic kick. YUM..plenty of time to go. — 3 years ago
