Popped and poured; enjoyed out of red Solo cups over the course of a few hours. The 1993 “Herb Lamb” pours a deep garnet/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and significant sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with heady notes of mostly ripe and some desiccate fruit: black currants, blackberries, black plum, a mix of red and purple flowers, tobacco, Poblano pepper, leather, cocoa, some tilled earth and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Delicious. This was an outstanding showing. Carmel corn on the nose. Poached pear, toasty and buttery flavor. A tasty Chardonnay. — 5 years ago
+2 hour decant(lots of sediment). Served with beautifully seared A5 Wagyu. A majestic deep dark garnet color. On the nose: subdued notes of dark/blue fruits, pencil shavings, menthol, wet forest floor, cedar. Taste: silky, pure, intense savory wine with blackberry/dark cherry, currants, graphite, mineral, dark chocolate espresso and a lingering long dry finish. YUM! Still has time to go and glad to have more bottles. — a month ago

Glass painting purple-black with vivid reflectivity. Zero variation. Chocolate mint nose with dried blackberry. Cassis and currants. The general aspiration of taste buds awakening to a joyous mouthfeel showing fruit and oak tannins in a nice dance. Cedar, blackberry black cherry and baked black currant with mint a sparkling resonance that gives and gives again. Very nice.

Delicious and smooth. Light oak, fresh fruit. We enjoyed this one a lot! — 5 years ago
Something to help the transition from Champagne to Cabernet.
Cobb & Hirsh Pinot Noirs are quite similar to me. Both well made, are good but have never astounded.
This 2014 is near its precipice.
The body is round & inviting. I sense a touch of tannins. Black cherries, blackberries, poached strawberries, pomegranate, just a hint of rhubarb, hovering raspberries, plum, haunting blueberries and black raspberries. Tree sap, hints of eucalyptus, dry crushed rocks, dry twig, light clove, some nutmeg, cinnamon, and feathery vanillin, lightly grilled meats, mix of fresh and used tobacco with soft ash, old used leather, soft, black pepper, mid dark spice, sandalwood, sandstone, red, purple and dark flowers, nice acidity with a softly tensioned, nicely balanced, elegantly, soft finish that lasts 90 seconds and lands softly on mid toned spices on the long set. — 2 months ago
