Bought this at the winery 2 years ago in Amador County, where it had been a surprise for us. We’d gone out there excited to try Zin and Rhone varietals, and so were surprised that we liked this Cab blend so much. Intense and open and with a bit of complexity and elegance. So good.

@Delectable Wine - This is the Andis Friedlander Block Old Vine Zinfandel Sierra Foothills. Very nicely composed. Brambly fruit, crushed earthy gravel. Not overly extracted. Some fine tannin supporting the structure for a few years aging. — 2 years ago

Yes please mag I have another. Because my synesthesia causes me to liken wines to fabrics and/air clothes I’m calling this day robe wine. Silky and comforting but with equal parts kick the keep you on your toes because the last thing you need is a day robe to put you to sleep. — 5 years ago

A little young and wound up. Some hints of baked peach cobbler, subtle spices, with bold tannins and soft acidity.

Andis - Old Massoni Ranch Reserve - Old Vine Zinfandel. 2022. The nose is really nice with a fragrance of blueberry pie and licorice in the background. The initial palate experience is blackberry, black cherry, and chocolate. The velvety mid palate quickly coats the mouth and then the dry oaky finish hits with a lingering desire for more! — 8 months ago

Wow, an excellent find! It's not as earthy as I'd expect from a Grenache, but the fruit is bold and delicious. It starts with a dark, sweet plum and smoothly transitions to a mild dirt flavor. — 9 years ago

2013 Syrah just released!!!! It has an amazing bouquet of lavendar and Lillys. The initial palate is loaded with dark berry fruit, and a deep, robust oak and a smoky cigar box experience. And then, all of a sudden, it calms down into a velvety, chocolate, black pepper, and vanilla landing, like the ocean gently rolling onto a sandy shoreline.. Then comes a very soft and subtle black cherry and very dry finish. WOW. This little Andis Winery never ceases to amaze me. Thank you ANDrew and JanIS.
