Dark transparent amethyst. Abundant nose of black cherry and wet stone. Medium palate confirms the nose adding a bit more black fruit supported by sturdy, medium acidity. Soft tannins assert toward back palate and on the lengthy finish. A solid intro to German PN with equally solid Rhein earmarks, this food-friendly red is a perfect companion to most fare and a great counterpart for Germany's universal white: Riesling. Drink now through 2026. — 3 years ago
Dark amethyst. Inviting, voluptuous nose of blackberry and violets. Echoed on the medium full, fruit-forward palate adding juicy black cherry and a hint of earthenware. Medium tannins and medium plus acidity. Excellent Dundee Hills PN that's a great foil for almost any fare, but with enough fruit for on its own drinking. A bridge between California and Burgundy. Drink now through 2026 or even a bit beyond. — 4 years ago

Dark amethyst. Abundant nose of black cherry, cranberry, and pipe tobacco. Well-structured, full bodied palate echoes the nose with firm tannins and medium acidity. Another great Toro from Uro. Take it anywhere you’d normally take Bordeaux or a firm Washington Cabernet. Steaks and hearty stews will reward especially. Drink now through 2029. — 6 years ago
Dark, glass-clinging amethyst purple. Dusky nose of black fruit, black rubber and black pepper. Full mouthfeel. Firm, woody tannins on entry, yielding to black fruit and pepper. A great wine with burgers or a cheap steak. — 9 years ago
#California #Nebbiolo. Whos says Cal-Ital #Wine can't make it?
Only the 3rd vintage I've seen in 8 years. #Nebbiolo with all the bells and whistles. Slight brick color (2005), medium density. Cherry cola, herb, juicy berry.
Clean, sharp, focused bing cherry. Zippy raspberry acid, long chain tannin that opened just right after 45ish minutes.
This wine will hold up for sometime. Killer juice! — 10 years ago
Dark, glass-clinging amethyst purple with opaque black core. Initially shy but inviting nose of blackberry, echoed on the medium full plate which adds notes of licorice, dark plum, and patent leather. Juicy, medium plus acidity enhancers the fruit and, paired with medium tannins, yields a very food-friendly Syrah that's a natural for steaks, roasts, or grilled fare. Try it with black olive pizza! Drink now through 2028. — 3 years ago

This Kumusha is blend of 88% Cab, 6% Cab Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot and bolsters a deep amethyst and garnet red color. The bouquet captures various shale minerals, red fruit, cherries and a hint of cinnamon. Followed by vibrant tannins, black pepper, anisette, cacao, cherries and end with a smooth finish. Perfect for a cheese platter for two!! — 3 years ago
Nose has fresh cherry, under-ripe cherry, ripe raspberry, strawberry jam, slight wood bark, slight alcohol, cherry jolly rancher candy and dried cherry.
Palate has (bright) dehydrated tart cherry, dried strawberry, slight acidic notes, dehydrated citrus with mild tannins.
Decanted 2H, high acidity nose on initial pour. Wine displays translucent amethyst with clear, light brown edge.
An absolutely fantastic Bourgogne! Bought a few months ago from a trusted source ($36!), honestly expecting to be dead, but we're so far from that it's breaking my mind...
I believe this is Monthélie vines.
The most perfect and supple cork, no Durand required today.
