FFV first constructed as the Larkmead Winery in 1884, the building was refinished with native sandstone from the nearby hills in 1906 and still stands tall today. Blended with 11% Petite Sirah, aromas of rich dark fruits with herb spice notes. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with some vanilla oak and pepper spice. Firm tannins, medium finish, good mouthfeel ending with spicy fruit character. Nice! — 10 days ago
With spring in the air, it’s time to get your SB on.
We were expecting 17 vintage to be a bust, but these guys proved us wrong. The nose is incredible with jasmine, honeysuckle and white flowers. Palate reveals nectarines and lemon and quince. So structured on the palate with bright acidity, and complimentary sweetness. Finishes with verve and urgency. Wifey gave it a 95. Who am I to argue... — 17 days ago
Loved how this wine stood up against its Napa counterparts — terrific value from Alexander Valley — 3 days ago
Purchased on a whim and you can be sure I’ll be looking for this producer again! Biodynamic without any of the funk. While I wish the nose was a bit prettier, the palate is fresh, bright and chuggable. A bit of acid appears to remind you of its structure, but mostly it’s just a pure joy to drink and not overthink. — 12 days ago
Wow. This is a spectacular, well balanced Zinfandel offering from Ridge. Bustling blackberry with a slight hint of oak on the nose. On the palette it starts off with some juicy blackberry and cherry, then rolls right in to some slight oak with light acidity and tannins to balance it all out. This is a spectacular Zinfandel and surprising at 100% Zinfandel. Drink this now or hold it for a couple of years. Bravo Ridge! — 15 days ago
Celebrating Tiger Woods Masters win w/ a score of -13. A 2013 vintage. In it’s prime, just like Tiger! — 3 days ago
Never heard of this. Someone asked me to taste it and call out a price point. Very juicy. Loads of ripe red fruit with a dash of spiced black fruit. Even for Sonoma, this was a touch light in body. Has around 6% Syrah and for some reason I think it was easy to pick up...there was an underripe blackberry and black pepper spice towards the end. Overall, a nice, simple, fruit forward Cab. Evidently, they are neighbors with Silver Oak and retail is $25. Solid for the price. — 12 days ago
