The 2003 Lafite-Rothschild has an attractive perfumed bouquet with touches of camphor infusing the blackberry and bilberry fruit. There is a mahogany bureau hint. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy opening. The sharp acidity slightly jars against the sweet candied black fruit, with blood orange and white pepper toward the mocha-tinged finish. It's missing a bit of sustain on the aftertaste, hence my more parsimonious score. It does cohere in the glass, so decanting will help. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner from ex-château magnum. dusty, plummy, ripe pinot that finishes with a peppy bite. really enjoyed this — 3 years ago
2010 vintage. Black cherry and black currant with cigar box and allspice and a touch of multi-grain on the nose. Black and bing cherry with chewy tannins and rooibos. Plum tartness, and an interesting grape-y aspect. Ripe currant and licorice.
This is more like it!

A shimmery gold with few bubbles and amazing floral notes on the nose. It’s just so pretty and inviting immediately. Raspberry and wildflowers for days, along with dusty earth and herbs. A bit of melon, a touch of cherry, a scooch of honeycomb. Lovely.
An equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir consisting mostly of the 2017 vintage with 30% of the previous year’s wine. Nice complexity with plenty of depth and character. Mature yet still so very fresh and electric. Sans dosage and incredibly pure throughout.
The fruitiness of the Pinot shines on the palate with blue and red berries. Roasted nuts and green apples. There’s a little spice and oak. The finish is long and robust. Definitely a favorite. — 9 months ago
Excellent Beauj I picked up at an independent store on Dixie Hwy…recognized Thevenet from an earlier rating….classic muddy fruity Beauj that will be really awesome in ~5yrs, but drinking well now — 4 months ago

Lovely to drink with dessert. I taste pear, honey, and orange with tiny little bubbles. Sweet but delish! — 3 years ago

I was disappointed by the amarone before so I popped up this one to find a great reliable pour for the last evening of our guest and best friend from back home (and yours truly last evening before a day off).
What comes to mind is umami. The nose is full on cedar, cigar box, tar, black currant and soy sauce. The palate is massive, wide, grainy, silky, tannic in the rear with a grain, some chocolate and that umami, meat sauce touch that lingers for a very long moment. Bordeaux grand cru classé like you would like it to be every single time. 🥺 — 5 days ago
