Big yet smooth. Great for celebrating Christmas! Great holiday times in Palo Alto — 2 years ago
A merlot rosé from Acumen’s Estate vineyard on Atlas Peak, this medium pink wine has loads of strawberry, raspberry, blood orange, cherry and floral aromas and flavors. Crisp acidity helps offset the barest hint of residual sugar. The wine is lovely with spicy foods or dipping on the patio on a dinner afternoon — 2 years ago
Lemon rind-wet stones nose, body lemongrass with medium finish. Good acid for food — a month ago
A powerful cali cab. Drinking really well. Nice fruit on the nose - strong tannins but well integrated and smooth. Really enjoyable — 2 years ago
As goth in residence I should alert you that aside from inevitable pheromones it is intellectual wine acumen that revs my motor. Ipso facto if brains turn you on, this Bandol will seduce you with its thoughtful rigor—it has its balance and complexity fine-tuned. Then pure sensual attributes (silky rhubarb/peach Melba joy/is that a bay leaf? And omg perhaps even a hint of allspice) are all guest speakers at the symposium. This wine has deep thoughts but is perky-goth enough to dance til at least 3am. Daylight may be too much though. — 3 years ago
Kleiner said it was a 10/10 - we had a 2031 — 2 months ago
BR was only off by a decade in this blind, which is both a testament to her blind-tasting acumen and the producer's greatness. She thought it was an 05' which given how young this was looking, was a forgivable mistake. The producer was an easy one - that unmistakable green tea aroma with streaks of white flowers, kaffir lime, and anise was just so Grunhaus. How she figured out it was from Abtsberg still baffles me, but I guess it was really just a 50/50 shot once the producer was established. Finally the lightness and dry linear finish placed it right in the Kabinett Trocken territory. Bravo, BR! As for me, the wine was just too digestible to have warranted any thought when drinking - disappeared over lunch with a good half of the effort contributed by yours truly. — 2 years ago
Can’t believe this was $25. I can’t tell if super overpriced or like worth its value kinda — 4 years ago
