Abruzzi Montepulciano

Valle Reale

San Calisto Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2007

Very dark purple for a 13 yo red. Loads of blackberry fruit. Tannins have softened. Fairly tart. Big, rich and long. Impressive. — 17 hours ago

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Rosé Montepulciano 2018

Enjoyed this for a special occasion. Pricier but worth it. Paired well with filet mignon. Would love to have again — 3 days ago

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Dry fruits, fresh and flowery ... Simple, dry and beautiful with an smooth mineral finish that was completely unexpected on a wine without a cork... Brief and maybe not complex but really enjoyable. Big big value for the price ... — 16 days ago

Cantine Torri

420 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Full body. Long legs - stretching to the max. Big, deep, ripe fruit, dark chocolate mixed in. Interesting on the nose - you might think you’ll fall over when taking a proper sniff. Surprising depth for an Italian wine but then again it’s a montepulciano. Definitely goes well with red meat and ..let’s say chocolate deserts. — 6 days ago

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017

Crushed black cherries, blueberry skins, sage, stone dust and hints of animal musk, all come together to form a deeply satisfying bouquet on the 2017 Tiberio Montepulciano. On the palate, soft, round textures give way to a twang of tart wild berry fruits, complemented by saline-minerals and then firmed up with grippy tannins. The finish is long and structured, yet still packed with spicy primary fruits and remaining fresh through residual acids. I know Cristiana isn’t a big fan of her warmer vintage wines, but the 2017 has the stuffing to improve in our cellars while still pleasing today. — a month ago

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2016

This is so different! It's got the fruit flavors you want from the richer varietals but it's also very earthy. Love it — 15 days ago
