Amazing density that lifts the sensory palate. Must try. Didnt seem like a port but a lighter amarone — 3 years ago
Took a while to get into it, but it was a lot better than the first sip forecast. My bottle started out low on complexity, but I guess it delivered on bring a nice representative Pinot from carneros ... Earthy with rose up front and a finish that my wife insists is carraway seed. — 5 years ago
2013 paired great with a rib eye or Butternut squash ravioli — 6 years ago
Smooth, and less acidity and crispness as other Sauvignon Blancs. Delicious with halibut with lemon caper butter sauce and crab cakes with collards and grits. — 17 days ago
Not as dark & opulent as the 97 ZD Reserve. But still another very good properly stored bottle. Cork looks great for the age. A little brickish at the edges . Give it 30-45 minutes to blow off the age. Can’t put it down now, this is a 1 person bottle. Had to give it an extra couple points Parker 88 back in the day. So much better now — 3 years ago
Always a good day when you open ZD — 5 years ago
We are big fans of ZD, but this producer consistently over-delivers in every way. This displays almonds and honeysuckle on the nose. Palate is dense and sweet. Impressive for the moderate price. — a month ago
Dry, bright. — 4 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and earthy oak spice. On the palate black cherry, raspberry and black currant flavors with espresso, cacao and earthy notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine ripe tannins long ending with fruit, oak and tobacco spice! Nice! — 9 days ago
