Decanted 2+ hours….seriously funky nose early but mellowed out and turned into very austere yet still strong fruit, mostly plum, not a hint of acidity. Like a middle aged Bordeaux. Love Testarossa — 13 days ago
Cherry, raspberry, currant, vanilla and oak. Light-bodied and soft tannins. — 13 days ago
Last night's wine I opened was the 2018 Mer Soleil Santa Lucia Highlands Reserve Pinot Noir Monterey County California. Winemaker Chuck Wagner.
The nose has notes of cherry, raspberry, plum, all spice, darjeerli g tea, oak and forest floor.
On the palate is dark cherry, raspberry, plum, all spice, vanilla, oakand earth.
This wine is medium bodied and a creamy mouthfeel with medium to medium + acidity and medium fine tannins with a medium to long dark fruit finish. The week has just started and we all received bad news over the weekend of a masterful and astounding winemakers passing. Jim Clendenon of Au Bon Climat had touched many lives with his wonderful and masterful wines. Jim will be surely missed! I truly wish his legacy will live on. Jim was only 68 years young. Have a wonderful week and remember life throws us all curveballs at any time. Please stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 25 days ago

Not generally a central coast Pinot fan but this was remarkable. Stellar lively acidity, surprising earth cola and fruit to balance and texture to savor. — 22 days ago
Full bodied Pinot Noir, for those of us who don't ever order Pinot Noir. — 13 hours ago
