This wine rocks. Gripping wine.
Raspberry and some black fruits. Very dense and structured.
Held up well with heavy Italian food
Softening with airtime. Around 3 hour mark - provides some interesting elegance with drying tannins.

This was lovely with dark fruit and spice. A touch of oak gave hints of vanilla and depth. Nice long lingering finish. — 4 months ago
This was served during my annual WWC hosting. Typical format of sparkler, three whites, four reds, one dessert, all served blind.
My goal was to compare this 2003 next to the 2003 Pichon Baron. I’ve had the 2002 Mondavi VHR a few times and have been floored how good they’ve been. Read a review from WA and it said the 2002 was a spitting image of the 2002 Pichon Baron, so I figured I’d see if the 2003 was worthy of the same comparison.
Decanted an hour. Whoa! Much more Bordeaux like than the ‘02, and a touch lighter. Mushroom, pipe tobacco and fig, with mineral/graphite note on the nose too. Mocha dusted red and black berries, currant, herbs and saddle leather. At the end of the lunch, this eventually turned to a more resolved (and deeper core of fruit) with the tannins integrating beautifully. Really enjoyable. Pop and enjoy. — 4 months ago

60% Nero d'Avola 2021, 40% Nero d'Avola 2020. Whole clusters (stems intact) foot tread for an overnight maceration on skins before pressing the following day. Fermented and aged separately in neutral tanks. Unfined. Unfiltered. Sediment expected.
Vineyards: Bricarelli Ranch, Ukiah, Mendocino County; 15-year-old head trained, dry-farmed vineyard. Chiarito-Ling Vineyard, Ukiah, Mendocino County; dry-farmed. I really enjoyed the 2019 and 2020 Benson Ranch Rosato and this multi-vintage wine is great too. Probably the most I’ve heard my wife rave about a rosé. — a month ago
Delicious! Lemon zest, grass, pineapple, honey, butter, and guava. Long, satisfying finish. — 4 months ago
Great as expected from Bucklin but is young and needs time. 90+ now 93 potential in 3-4 years. — 5 months ago
