Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2010

Solid showing but perhaps the bottle was a bit off. The wine had a puckering lingering element. It was still very good. Just not the balanced fruit focused effort I am used to. This vintage is great and other bottles have been better. Here is to the next one! — 11 days ago

One of my all time faves and a spectacular vintage. Cheers!!

Domenico Clerico

Pajana Barolo Nebbiolo 2008

It followed a Poggio Antica Brunello from 2007 and showed beautifully. Was eclipsed by the Valdicava Brunello later in the night — 4 years ago

Tenuta Nuova Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2006

Great Brunello, more restrained than Valdicava. Great nose, smooth and structured. #ehrlich #winegeek2q2014 — 9 years ago

Tenuta San Guido

Bolgheri Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 1998

1998 Sassicaia. Latm dinner at Ner. I preferred this over the 1999 Valdicava Madonna out of 3L. This wine had great length, lots of fruit, and didn’t feel as lean as the Madonna. — 4 years ago

In a great place. Called it 1990 Valdicava. Pretty happy with that call. — 7 years ago

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese

Classic rosso, great for pasta/ meat let it open. — 3 months ago

Colombaio Montosoli Rosso di Montalcino DOC Sangiovese 2018

Mid to pale crimson in colour. Red cherry, burnt toffee, earth and tar. Juicy on the light to medium weight palate. Oak is noticeable but does not overly intrude. Herbal notes. A great match with home made linguine pasta. Even though only a Rosso has a cellaring capacity of another 5 years although pretty attractive right now. Lovely wine - a superior Rosso. Had another bottle 41 weeks later on 23rd Nov 2022 with consistent notes. Excellent food wine. Drank the 3rd and last on 20th December following the 2007 Valdicava. A very good Rosso. — 2 years ago
