Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

On the nose: lemon, lemon oil, hazelnut, sour apple. On the palate, excellent acidity and very hi-toned, wet stone, lemon oil. A touch disjointed between acidity and fruit. Good density, and hi-toned finish. Not sure how this will improve with age, but not nearly as good as the perrieres of the same vintage. — 3 months ago

Hospices de Beaune Cuvée Général Muteau Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2009

I love when you put your nose in the glass and it’s so easy to say Burgundy.
Expressive nose of mixed berries, violets and earth. All the parts gracefully integrated. Drinks great now and upside ahead. Happy to say this wine is not suffering from the ‘09 heat.

Meursault Chardonnay 2014

Lemon, grapefruit and mineral notes on nose and palate. Wonderful freshness with medium acidity but requisite tension. Good density on the palate with a tinge of honey and pineapple juice to compliment the citrus. More on the austere grapefruit style than the fleshy peachy opulent style. Ticks all the boxes for very good village Meursault from the very good 2014 vintage for White Burgundies. Ready to drink now. — 2 months ago
