AFFORDABLE WINE RATINGS cont.
Okay. This is Francis Coppola Diamond Collection 2019 paso robles!!!!! Bingo. Lavendar and wildflowers on the bouquet. No tartness at all!!!!!!! As you know most affordable Cabs these days from Cali are drinking very tart. Not this one. Blackberry, black cherry, dark currant leads the tastebuds to a dark chocolate mocha and oaky beginning. This is followed by an immediate sensation of fresh blackberry pie with a very dry finish. there is something else that I cant put my finger on. It has hints of dark soil and earthy graphite somewhere in there moving back-and-forth into the palate. I’m craving a drink of water right now but I’ll tell you this I’m having another drink first. I suggest you get a bottle of this diamond collection and see what you think the complexity is very nice. got it... cigars and English pipe tobacco !!! — 21 days ago
Drinks well with pasta and a meat sauce. — 24 days ago
This wine has flavors of berries as well as a wonderful floral character. It is slightly lighter in weight than some cabs. It has a nice finish. It went perfectly with the beef lasagne we paired it with. This is really an excellent wine - as good as some cabs that are twice the price. I will be buying again. — 7 days ago
Great wine. Lots of tannins, and leather taste. Tasted it in the tasting room and liked it much better at home — 5 days ago
I like this. A nose of restrained gooseberry and tomato plant. On the palate, it's more of that with a dry, powdery feel rather than anything cloying. We had an awesome pairing for this one which made good use of the wine's acidity... A creamy mushroom and miso spaghetti... Superb pairing here. — 16 days ago
Some evidence of aging from rim variation and aroma. Med intensity aroma. Ripe red fruit. Dry but with a hit of fresh fruit sweetness. Medium plus body. Medium acidity, velvety tannins, mellowed by aging. Black cherry, some pepper and vanilla from oak. Long finish. — 14 days ago
