Poetry Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

2 hour decant(decent sediment). A marvelous purplish dark crimson color. On the nose: big red fruit, wet soil, herbaceous, toasty oak, and mint. Taste: smooth, silky, rich, powerful mouthwatering wine with dark plum/cherry, earth, pencil lead, espresso, baking spice, herbal and a long finish with some still there kickin tannins. YUM! no hurry, time to go. — 8 days ago

@Paul T- Huntington Beach Nice! Tried it a year ago at the winery and had to buy a few bottles...so so good. Another 5 years or more of patience will be rewarded. Cheers!

Napa Valley Petite Sirah 2018

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Showing black fruits with earth, oak, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, vegetables, light vanilla, herbs and peppercorn.

Starting to drink nicely now. Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Good right out of the bottle, but very tight. Needs 3 hours to open up, but it finished too quickly.

Aged in (25% new) American oak barrels for 14 months.

14.4% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$45.

Baldacci Family Vineyards

Black Label Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Stewed cherries, lots of earth, good viscosity. finish not as strong as I’d like which maybe means some age? Revisit: nose is like breakfast potatoes and pepper. Finish has gotten much better with solid tannin. Palette has good mushroom and earth and blackberry notes. — 24 days ago

Tomahawk Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

2013 Complex and delicious! Tobacco—even a hint of cigar. Call me crazy, but I detect the slightest hint of banana. Silky with nice tannins. — a month ago
