Hillside Select is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 32 months in 100% new 60-gallon French oak barrels. Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of dark fruits, with hints of cedar, floral, oak, herbs and spice. On the palate flavors of concentrated ripe blackberry, cherry and blackberry, pepper, tobacco, leather and earthy cacao. Fine savory tannins, well balanced, long finish, great structure ending with fruit, spice, oak and earthy mineral character. Outstanding!

My annual tasting of the Hillside Select allocation and I’ll leave the other bottles alone for 5-10 years... maybe. 😜 The 2017 is great! Beautiful wine. All things Hillside Select; dense, opulent, balanced, and well made. This has been my least favorite in the past 6 years including 2011. That’s like me saying the Testarossa is least favorite Ferrari. This was described as maybe the best wine of the vintage and I could believe that. Looking forward to the tasting in 5 years.
