Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2015

Ron R

As fresh as a spring daisy on the nose and palate. This hasn’t moved since it was bottled. I’m very impressed.
The nose presents lanolin and lemon oil and fresh-cut flowers. Palate is laser-focused with limes, grapefruit and gravel. Acid structure is pristine, yet powerful. I’m more familiar with BC’s pinots. This isn’t how I recollect the chard to be - wow! I think this is their entry-level offering, too. A very pleasant surprise… age is its friend.

Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2020

$33 Medium nose. Notes of honeydew melon, lime peel, peach, hint of baking spice and caramel. Very well balanced. Low alcohol, low tannins and low acid. Medium body. Smooth and buttery. Off-dry. Oak shines through. Notes of pear, apple, starfruit, lemon peel, and lime peel on the tongue. This is a pleasant, well balanced chardonay, with a clean oak finish. The oak is not overpowering, which is a relief considering it's a CA chardonnay. Worth it's price and worth another drink. — 21 days ago

Rita's Crown Chardonnay 2014

Really very good. In a nice spot, glad we saved this. Quite rich, but the confectionary quality is nicely balanced. A bit flinty on the finish, excellent acid. Very complete and enjoyable — 7 days ago

Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2020

Delectable Wine

The 2020 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is fabulous. In fact, the appellation wine is my favorite Pinot in this range. The combination of the sites, and a bit less stem influence than the vineyard designates, works so well. There's a bit more fruit, more mid-palate sweetness and better balance overall, in my view. All the elements are so well put together. All of this fruit is from Machado and Hapgood. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2022)

Domaine de la Côte

Bloom's Field Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2020

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of opening the 2020 Domaine De La Côte Bloom's Field Pinot Noir from Lompoc, California.

On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, raspberry, cinnamon, clove, baking spice and dry dusty earth.

On the palate there is cherry, strawberry, raspberry, spice, hibiscus, vanilla and forest floor.

This wine is medium bodied with a smooth fresh mouthfeel medium + mouthwatering acidity and medium fine tannins that lead to a long red fruit earthy finish. On this Wednesday heading over the hump towards the weekend let us all remember all the good things that we have and family and friends we dearly cherish. Have an exciting rest of your week in hopes the weekend will refresh our hearts. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷
