St. Georges St. Émilion, Libournais

Château Fombrauge

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Purchased 8 cases of this on release. Amazing QPR at $32 drinking well showing lots of berry , cassis fruits, leather, vanilla spice, mocha & tobacco. Still youthful with many years left to drink the remaining 54 btls. 😜 — 12 hours ago

Bright expression. Agreed it’s got decades in front of it. Just don’t see it getting any better. @Mike R

@Mike R Love the Angus Barn. I’m originally from the RDU area. My folks still live there. Do you live in that area? If so, maybe we can have a glass sometime when I’m in town.

Yep I’m in the RDU area and of course will share a glass or two - just need a little time to plan it as I travel a lot

Château Bellisle Mondotte

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

A touch hot but otherwise an unpretentious and delicious right bank Bdx (80 merlot / 20 cab franc). Dark fruits—plums and blueberry—plus tobacco and plenty of earth and umami. Pair with anything roasted or grilled and a summer evening watching the fireflies — 5 days ago

Tobacco, dark cherries, cassis, and aromatics galore. Soft tannins abound. Long finish. — 6 days ago

Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes

Comtes de Neipperg St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Rich right bank Bordeaux. Full bodied. Hit on all cylinders from the beginning until the end. Dark fruit that transitioned from the front of your mouth to your cheeks as the tannins kicked in. Smooth finish. — 16 days ago

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Fantastic bottle from a really cool and old school St. Emillion producer - the limestone storage caves were a sight to behold.. Grabbed one of these for the cellar - excited to see how good this will be in 10-15 years. — a month ago

Highly drinkable, fruity. No burn. Another smashing St Emilion — 3 days ago

Château Puy-Razac

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Though it’s very difficult for me to find a reasonably-priced Bordeaux I actually like, this is one. Bright nose shows dark cherry, cedar shavings, gravel, and a deep woodsy scent. Good cherry-centric fruit, loads of acidity, and a very bright mouthfeel. The acids feel almost like the bright, accentuated acids I associate with Paso Robles limestone soil. Not particularly long or complex in the mouth, but resonates more on the *fun* scale. — 20 days ago

Château Beauséjour

Puisseguin Saint-Émilion Cuvée Spéciale Merlot & Cabernet Franc 2018

Purpley (look and taste!), earthy (probably a Virgo) and it does have that Virgo-esque ability to be heady (Ready to conquer nose! Tannins! So much!) but, again, earthy and grounded. With a hint of mint. — a day ago
