Everything you wish for in a very-day Bordeaux.
Black currants, a touch of cedar wood, a bit of gravel and a pinch of spice.
And this ‘16 is singing right now with perfectly mellow tannins, still quite a bit of fruit but the depth of flavors is already shifting. Precise, juicy, on the lighter vs fuller side. So drinkable. Delish! — a month ago

Not the best of vintage in Bdx, but the winemaker clearly pulled off some acrobatics here.
Nose displays the usual Cos spice-box signature, along with notes of forest floor, sage and mushrooms. Palate is rich and dense showing no signs of age. Nice mature casis profile links up with brambles and sandalwood. Tannins continue to prop up this outstanding example. — 2 days ago

2 hour decant. A marvelous medium garnet color (decent fine sediment). On the nose: dark berries, cassis, forest floor, sandalwood, pencil shavings, chocolate, and cigar box. Taste: layered, balanced, still young wine with dark cherry/plum, cedar, dark chocolate, charcoal, and a lingering tobacco/leather finish. YUM! No hurry, a long distance Las Cases. — 9 days ago

Blend of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 59% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby red color with aromas of sweet red berry fruits, floral and cedar spice. On the palate flavors of black fruits, cacao, tobacco and herb notes. Lively acidity, fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, cacao, leather and earthy oak. Nice now! — a month ago

1990 vintage. Bottom neck fill. Excellent cork. Decanted with appropriate sed. Slightly darker color than all the 1990 BDX I've tasted in the last year. Initial, slight funk on the nose that dissipated rapidly. Tasted immediately after decant, 1 hour and 2 hours later. Started softly but then brought out that big, Lagrange stick. Cedar, smoke, plum, leather, mercury, distilled dark cherry, summer pond mud. Displayed better balance throughout than expected with good staying power. Based on this excellent sample, will be shopping for more. Could hold in this spot for another half-decade before recalibrating. 12.5.25. — 10 days ago

Very nice. Bold but not abrasive with alcohol like younger Bordeaux can be. Cab dominant but can tell the Merlot is there too - balanced but you can still tell the cab comes first. Tannins are well integrated. 2014 vintage…could go longer - still youthful in fruit. Drinking great now though. — 23 days ago
