The solar vintage of 2009 was a great match for Chevillon as it adds more rich fruit expression and freshness to balance the (integrated) gamey elements and rusticity Chevillon can often display. There is excellent concentration, balance and intensity. Cassis, black cherries, sous bois, smoke and minerals. Saturating texture and depth on the midpalate before a long and harmonious finish. Wonderful. — 6 months ago

Cédric Moussé is the fourth generation of his family to make champagne at Moussé Fils. He is young, energetic and innovative.
In 2012, Mousse completed construction of a new winery in Cuisles, designed to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. It is state of the tech art.
In 2005, Moussé joined the Club Trésors de Champagne, and began making a Spécial Club champagne in that vintage. It's the first 100-percent meunier champagne in the history of the Club.
Single vineyard Meunier comes from 4 plots in lieu-dit “Les Fortes Terres”.
Pale pink gold colour. Crushed almonds, raspberry and strawberry with splash of milk (full malo). Reductive winemaking puts emphasis on the purity of the fruit! 1g/l dosage is enough to balance. Broad-shouldered on the palate. Dry long finish. Spent over 3 years sur lee and disg. 10/2019
Solar 2015 vintage speaks from the glass. Overall that was a warm year which started with a mild and humid winter, followed by quite a dry spring and summer. Harvest started on the 9th of September.
This is one of Champagne's finest examples of pure meunier!

Not bad for a red blend. Stews wines has it for ~$10 — 2 months ago
Solar oaky Cabernet-franc from 🇮🇱 which is expressed here on notes of very ripe fruit. The mouth is fresh with a well-maited alcohol. Balanced, with ageing marked by vanilla. The finish is tannic and persistent. It invokes Bordeaux and southwest. Gastronomic.
— 3 months ago
Warming and rich with its smokey ripe fruit. There’s a sun-kissed element there. The tannins are marked by this solar vintage too, with a lower acidity accompanying that. Wholesome, full, with some burliness in its oak and tannin but nothing that isn’t absolutely delightful. It’s built around the iron and smoke content now, with warm black cherry compote, leather, ash, violet/lavender, truffle, and pepper adding support. The allure of spices and whole cluster layers are in sync with the rest of the wine. Despite the impacts from heat/drought, I still find that “Burgundian” sensibility that makes the brothers Jamet wines so delicious and intricate. With aeration its structural balance and powdery tannic length began to take on a more noble form. — 7 months ago

First nose is tight and reserved. With time, aeration and temperature, it opens up with tropical fruits: pineapple. Some herbs. So concentrated on the palate. The residual sugar (45 g/l) nicely integrates with racy acidity of Riesling. Harvested at 86° Oechsle it is then fermented with ambient yeasts to low 9% Alc. Love the style of this Kabinett: elegance and finesse. Accentuated finish. Solar vintage, indeed. Huge potential ahead.
Anna Reimann together with her husband in 2016 acquired an existing winery and 5ha of vineyards. A year later they bought Johann Peter Reinert Estate and expanded to northern Saar vineyards. This is definitely a rising star and the address to watch.
