Sine Qua Non vs Schrader cage fight tonight.
+4 hour decant (some fine cloudy sediment). A remarkable dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: red and black fruit, stewed meat, sandalwood, pepper, bacon, charcoal. Taste: a smooth, rich, soft, powerful wine with dark cherry, licorice, smoke, leather, pepper and a long dark chocolate espresso finish. YUM! It has everything you want. Its young(probably a better score if I have patience), but so good I might pop another bottle tomorrow. Cheers! — 11 days ago
It was a Sine Qua Non night (which are always my favorites!). This was surprisingly tight given its age. Came back to it a couple of days later and it was SO MUCH better. If you have this in your cellar and are planning to pull it soon, I’d suggest a 4-hour decant to let it open up. It’ll be fantastic! — 7 days ago
Truly sublime even 21 years later. In magnum. — a month ago
Schrader vs Sine Qua Non battle Royale tonight!
1.5 hour decant (lots of fine/chunky sediment). An impressive inky ruby red color. On the nose: semi muted nose of black fruit, floral, slight mint, touch of meat, and vanilla Blueberry at the end. Taste: NICE! A smooth, layered, rich medium plus body wine with ripe cherry, spice, plum, minerals, crushed rocks, and a long cinnamon chocolate finish. YUM! Let's see how the SQN does.. — 11 days ago
