Dangerous Birds Sta. Rita Hills Syrah 2007

I need more of this in my life. Beautiful. This was a wine that I could just sit with for a long time. So much depth and complexity. So well balanced. First Saturday gathering. — 10 days ago

I really enjoy them as well! Wish I wasn’t only in year 3 of waitlist ☹️

I’ve been on for about 6yrs myself. If you haven’t already, sign up for Andremily…no winery gets as close to SQN as they do. Often times I’ve found them to be just as good, if not better, at a better price point!

Labels Syrah 2007

This syrah is simply excellent and I drank it at the right time. Not as viscous as I anticipated given the relatively high (15.3%) alcohol, but maybe the residual sugars have mellowed with age. It has some of the syrah “wildness” I like in my favorite K Syrah. Almost a raisin flavor, with some tannins. Too bad this isn’t every night. RP 98 pts, $299. — 24 days ago

Charlotte Pinot Noir 2012

Wow. This is the sine qua non of Oregon pinot. Intoxicatingly spiced red fruit on the nose. Seamless and bright on the palate, but with great peppery/spicy depth to the fruit. It is amazing how the 2012 Oregon pinots show very little age despite now being 8 years past the vintage date. — 2 years ago

Stockholm Syndrome Syrah 2010

To celebrate my 7,500th wine review on Vivino, here is a hundred point wine from Santa Rita Hills.

Dark inky in color with a short purple rim.

On the nose black cherries, blackberries, tobacco, chocolates, light vanilla, cedar and black pepper.

Full bodied and soft, with medium acidity.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This 12 year old Syrah is drinking beautifully now. Well balanced with nice complexity and a great, soft mouthfeel.

Doesn't feel like a Syrah, but it's really delicious. Drinks more like a Napa Cabernet, which is fine with me.

This wine is so special, that it was made only in this 2010 vintage. A gorgeous Syrah from a Single Vineyard that will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Wine Advocate 100 points.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and a very nice wine to share with friends and talk about. Good right out of the bottle, rich and extracted.

Alcohol is nicely integrated by now, so you better watch out.

A blend of 96% Syrah, 3% Roussanne and 1% Viognier. Aged in all new French Oak barrels for 42 months.

15.6% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

Atlantis Fe2O3-1a Syrah 2005

A sublime pour from FLX Table. The ripe red and black fruit and sweet oak are perfectly integrated but both pure in their own right. Silky texture, vibrant, concentrated, and long. I’m not normally a fan of Syrah so this blew my mind 🤯🤩🤯 — 5 months ago

La Joie Sonoma County Red Blend 2012

Bombastisk och självsäker om än mer återhållsam än Sine Qua Non, om det nu säger något. Bläck, plommon, mörka mogna bär. Lång smak med frisk syra som piggar upp det hela. — 3 years ago
