This is a delicious dessert wine from France. Sweet on the palate with great complexity.
Showing honey, yellow apples, apricots, spices, sweet nectar, white wild flowers, melons, brown sugar and spices.
Medium bodied with high acidity.
Well balanced with enough acidity to balance the sugars.
Thank you Barry for sharing this with me.

Fig, honey, citrus nose.
Moderate sweetness with ripping acidity.
Nice representative of Sauternes:) — 3 days ago
2017 vintage. A bit of a curiosity as this 4 hectares vineyard is situated on an island in the Ciron river. After years of abandonment it was bought and restaured by the Lamothe family (Château Haut-bergeron). 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon blanc. More freshness compared to the 2016 vintage with ripe pineapple and flowers on the nose. Not especially profound but a very nice lightweight Sauternes with good acidity and good almondy length. Good value too at 23 EUR. — 2 hours ago
Tropical fruits commingle with the typical aromas of molasses, orange peel, and dried apricots. Hint of mint as well. Salted sweetness is countered by abundant fresh acidity. Would like to see a bit more viscosity on the medium to full body.
A simple good pairing with dark chocolate. Very youthful at 23 years. — 17 days ago
Despite the degraded label wine is in excellent shape! Deep amber color, not a whiff of sherry oxidative notes like the other 70s oldies. Very mature dried fruits floral profile with balanced palate and what a match for the Hungarian foie gra Wilson brought. Also paired really well with Costco duck dressed up like a Peking version! — a day ago
This Premier Cru Sauternes paired with foie Gras at Picasso was out of this world. — 7 days ago
